Liverpool fans on Twitter were delighted on Sunday as their side beat bitter rivals Manchester United 3-1 at Anfield, and much of the praise was reserved for holding midfielder Fabinho.
The Brazilian arrived from Monaco in the summer for a fee of £43.7m but he initially struggled to break into the starting XI on Merseyside as Jurgen Klopp felt he needed time to adapt to English football.
It would seem that this was an inspired decision, as against United the 25-year-old stood out as one of the best players on the pitch.
His positional sense allowed him to provide a strong shield in front of the back four, and his incisive forward passing was perfectly illustrated with his wonderfully lofted ball for Sadio Mane to get in behind and open the scoring.
