West Ham boss Sam Allardyce is plotting a move for Norwich midfielder Robert Snodgrass, according to reports from The Mirror.
‘Big Sam’ is believed to have been impressed by the Scottish international’s performances last term, and is willing to allocate £5m of his transfer kitty to persuading him to swap Carrow Road for Upton Park.
The ex-Leeds man was one of the Canaries standout performers during 2012/13, producing a number of high quality performances to help his side secure a steady midtable finish.
Allardyce believes that Snodgrass could be a major asset in his attacking ranks, and somebody who can provide goals from midfield.
Furthermore, the former Blackburn chief is confident that the 25-year-old will provide big money signing Andy Carroll with the ammunition he needs to fire the Hammers up the table.
Norwich chief Chris Hughton is far from keen to lose one of his star men, and is likely to attempt to price West Ham out of a move.
But, Snodgrass could be tempted by a move to London if lucrative wages are offered.
Allardyce is attracted to the Scot due to his ability to play on either flank or in a central position.
