  The Selecao opened their quest for continental glory on U.S. soil when facing Costa Rica at SoFi Stadium. Lehmann was in the stands for that game having spent the previous week enjoying the weather and iconic sights in Los Angeles.

  Lehmann was given little to cheer, alongside the friends that she dragged along for the ride, as Brazil disappointed many – including all-time leading goalscorer Neymar – as they played out a drab goalless draw in California.

• WHAT LEHMANN & LUIZ SAID

  Luiz was an unused substitute as Brazil got their Copa campaign up and running, but Lehmann has been quick to let the 26-year-old midfielder know that she will always be on hand to support him. She posted an “always supporting you, I love you” message on social media, which delivered an “I love you” response from Luiz.
